Matt La Belle is the principal at Adolfo Camarillo High School in Ventura County, Calif. He is also Mark’s boss. But in this interview, La Belle puts aside his supervisory role and speaks openly with Mark about the challenges education faces. In his first year as principal, he has had to deal with tragedies of epic proportions from a wildfire that closed school for a brief period to the pandemic; from “flipping” the classrooms to an online environment, to how to deal with a senior class that won’t have a prom or even a graduation–to what’s next as education tries to thread the moving needle of how it will adapt to a new reality.
Excellent job Marky! Reminds me of my own dj days, pre-podcast era. Matt brought-up good details of concern that i was pondering. Put me on your fan list! I miss you.
I miss you too, Chris! Do subscribe at iTunes, Tunein, Stitcher or Google podcasts? 🙂 It will be nice to go back to school–hopefully before I retire next June!
Very good!
